Afternoon all. So, my dilemma of the day is that I have fallen out of love with my hairdresser (metaphorically not literally!). The last couple of times I've been I haven't been happy with either the cut or the colour. I can't say I've been really unhappy with it either, it's just been a bit - nothing.

So I'm on the hunt for a new hairdresser and my question is, how do I know if a hairdresser/salon is any good, short of loitering outside for a few hours to see each client as they come out! I need someone who understands that I have a fat face and won't suit a great deal, knows how to cut curly hair to a style and not just a length and can inspire me to trust them enough to try something new... not a lot to ask really

Opinions and points of reference would be warmly received!

you won't know till you try them, as it's such a personal thing, their abilty to do the things mentionmed, their attitude, and how hard it is to get an appointment all comes into the end result to if you like them.
Check who your friends use and see if they can recommend comeone.
Or, tell your hairdresser you fancy something different, as you are bored.
Good luck.

I would seriously recommend you go back to your existing hairdresser and explain you're bored of your hair and want something new, keeping in mind face shape, curly hair etc

You could be so much worse off.

Ask friends who's hair you admire where they go.

Thank you hair geeks. Maybe it's a time of year thing but none of my friends seem to be too happy with their cut and/or colour at the minute so they're not great for recommendations.

I think I'll take Zo Zo's advice and go back to my hairdresser and have a chat with her, she doesn't do a bad job by any stretch of the imagination so it's more than likely me not her.

It must drive you stylists mad when a customer comes in and says 'Im bored, I want a change, but I don't know what I want'!!!
