How do you protect nail art on matte nails?

Hi,
Just wondering how everyone protects their nail art when done on matte nails. Ie glossy nail art on top of matte base or stamping on nails with Matte finish.

If I am stamping I finish with the matte topcoat just like i usually would with glossy top. As for handpainted nail art, it depends what effect you want, if you want the whole finish to be matte then just finish with matte topcoat as usual. I don't feel they need more protection, so I am a bit unsure what you're asking.

The only way I can think of is to go over the design with a fine brush... applying to the areas you want to be glossy.
