Hey girls I'm a Licensed nail tech, love this site[emoji106]
I just got my hair done 3 days ago I asked for a dark red, my hair was ombré blonde beige shades. The beautician left the color on for way too long, 45mins "matrix color" so my hair came out black! I wasn't happy with it but still paid her cause she promised it would fade and get lighter to look like what I asked for. And it hasn't, with 3 washes with clarifying shampoo. Does anyone have any suggestions please

Go back and ask the stylist to correct it x

Oh dear, you've been sold a pup, as the saying goes....

Your hair isn't dark because the colour was left on too long. That's not how colour works. It's totally different to bleach where timing is critical.

The colour is too dark probably because she chose the wrong products/formula for your hair. Definitely return to the salon and insist she fixes it and gives you the colour you initially requested and she had agreed to do.

You should never leave a salon being told 'don't worry, your hair will eventually be the colour you requested after you've washed it and it's faded out...'

It should be the correct colour when you're sat in the chair!

Matrix color sync ( demi) actually does continue to darken if it's left longer than the 20mins recommended.
I always choose a shade lighter if I think it might be on longer than required, eg if low lighting while doing bleach foils.
I think it will lighten in a few weeks if this is the problem.

You could try washing it with ... clarifying shampoo.
If you ask her to correct it she will need to bleach your hair - think about the damage that could cause, do you really want that ?

That what I was afraid of! Whether she uses color removal or has to bleach it out it's going to damage my hair:( are they any other options?
This is what I wanted

I had actually tried spraying hydrogen peroxide on my hair 2 days later and washing it with clarity's get shampoo that's how I got the very slight results in the last pic where u can see a hint of color when the sunlight hits it. But I want more obvious results. I'm very fair skinned and I definitely don't like this shade against my skin:( I've tried calling her and she's been avoiding me saying she can't do anything to it but I'm sure she's lying. I've thought of just going to the salon and confronting her in person (she was the owner) maybe then she'll agree to fix it. But I'd like to know what would be the thing she'd do? I don't want my hair to get really damaged

It doesn't even look like the same tone as you were after.

Definitely go back.
And request conditioning treatments after the colour service. If she had done it right in the first place, she wouldn't have had to correct it. And wouldn't have further damaged it. X

I know she mixed the red and a brown shade in the same bowl I thought that wasn't right but trusted her since I know nails and I thought she knew hair

That's what I thought and my hair wasn't that light to begin with so it caught the color fast

Sorry, I wrongly assumed the OP was referring to Matrix Socolour. I haven't used Matrix for a while.
In any case, it shouldn't take much to lift out the excess tone.

Please don't randomly spray peroxide on your hair. That's not going to help.
A colour remover that isn't bleach based won't cause any damage anyway but a mild cleanse is probably all that's needed in this case.

As the OP is in the states, she should probably try a different salon that offers Olaplex treatments.

As I suggested earlier, don't leave the salon without a plan to rectify it, if it's not right the first time.
If it takes a few weeks to fade to the correct shade, what about the area of regrowth? It's just a very poor standard of service to my mind.

That's very true I didn't think about that! Everyone is telling me I was stupid for paying her :( but I'm a nice person and I truly did believe her
