How to test hair samples?

Hi guys how do you test out hair samples?
I wash and blow dry them a few times but don’t think it tests it well enoughD:

i have this same problem. i usually wash a few strands with a drug store shampoo/conditioner (worst case scenario) see how tangled they get/how easy it is to brush out once dry.
