Hiya

I sculpted a new thumb nail on myself and while i pulled the form off...(without care) i broke the seal of the Hyponychium....(think i have that right..??)...it really hurts, never felt this before and thought at first it was a cut...as it is so painful.

I know i have to be careful and keep this clean to prevent infection but is there any thing else i can do to help it heal quicker.

Lesson learnt.....take care removing forms !!!:irked:

OOOOWWWW
i feel your pain
i have a few times , caught my nail and thought if i was very carefull i could just tidy it up ....with my teeth !!!
and have torn the hyponychium in the process
it hurts like mad ..

I have had this done to me once when I was in a salon a few years ago , it stings like hell!!
cant offer any advice though , sorry .
But now that I am a tech , and I know hom much it can sting, I make sure I am gentle when removing forms!!! xx

have you ever noticed some elderly peoples too....especially those with long nail beds....it grows so high up.

Ouch. I use solar oil wih a drop of tea tree oil applied direct. It works for me :lol::lol:

YOUCH A MUNDO !!!!!

Dont know what to say for advice mate other than the 'holy solar oil'

if it were my nail (and not a clients) i'd be tempted to stick some germalene new skin on it or gelbond:eek: (but i'd prob get a nice fat infection too):green: :green:

Ouch Angie!!
Even worse it gets a bit better and you forget about it...then you go to pick something up...and OUCH it flares up again!!!

Of course Solar Oil will do the trick. I would prefer Solar Balm and stick a bit in the back of the nail so it just stays there longer!!!

Adeles tip sounds good too...mixing it with good old Tea Tree!!

Ouch! Solar Oil did the trick for me when I did the same thing a few weeks ago.. feels just like a paper cut but the oil soon soothed it. Tea Tree oil sounds a cool idea too :)
