i feel like giving up. I can't seem to get product ratio and cuticle application down. I struggle so much and can't seem to just get it down where I no longer have to think about it. My nails come out too thick. I just want to be able to do what I see every one do, pretty nails that are smooth and thin. I can encapsulate anything right. I just suck! I have spent a ton of money on education and although I've learned a lot I still struggle with the basics. I just want to give up. Tell me one day I'll have that AHA moment where it'll start making sense.

Hey hunni.

Don't be so harsh on yourself. Can you perhaps upload some photos for us to look at (I'm new so don't know if it's possible)
I'll bet they are no where near as bad as you think.
Have you had efile training? As this can happen alot whole you're getting to grips with ratios.
Also what brush do you use? Try not to change your brushes too often, get used to one brush, then you will know how much monomer it absorbs, same goes for the acrylic powder.

Keep at it, you will definitely have the "ah ha!" moment! How long have you been doing nails for? Xxx

Keep going and practise practise practise! I second the efile training as in my early days if I applied to thickly I could take down the bulk easily and quickly with the efile until i mastered the thinner application. It just helped with my confidence to know that I can correct it to a decent looking set of nails x

I'd personally disagree with efile training until you're confident and comfortable with your application.
You will get that moment when it all falls into place but L&P takes so much practice so don't give up. The more you do the easier it will be.
Stick to the basics where possible as adding in nail art etc just adds pressure.
