I need advice on best how to remove milkshake purple 5.77, from mid lengths.
I done a root stretch back in September. We have left her hair from then to try and let it wash out as much as possible.
I done a strand test with 40vol bleach, as she wants to return back to her usual full head bleached highlighlights, base 10 with scattered base 6es to break it up.
The 40 vol did not lift the purple out, the hair was still very gold 7'ish.
I've been in hairdressing for 20 years & believe it or not, I have only ever used effasol once on a clients hair, but it was so long ago I can't remember anything about it.
I've recently come back to hairdressing after being away for a few years, so I'm still a bit nervous with a few things.
Can anyone give me advice on the best way to tackle getting her back to blonde?
Her natural colour is about a base 6, so she has about a 2" natural root,
with about 2.5" - 3" of the purple tone, her ends are about a base 10.
Her hair is very temperamental, she will have very stubbern areas that are hard to lift even with bleach, but equal areas that lift soooo quickly.

If you’ve been out of hairdressing for a bit, it would be worthwhile getting up to speed with modern colour removal products.
This thread should give you some useful initial advice.

I don’t think you should ever need to use bleach and 40vol to remove old colour. On chemically treated hair, that will be damaging.

Do you think it’s possible that she applied a direct dye purple (semi) to freshen up the colour after you applied it as it’s very strange that it hasn’t naturally faded more especially after the bleach. Unfortunately, bleach has the opposite effect when applied to direct dyes and can cause them to stain the cuticle layer so that it has to be cut out.

Thankyou, yes I'm booked in to quite a few courses jan & Feb. No she definitely has not used anything. I know I found it very odd that there is stollvso much left. Thankyou
