hi i have just started using ibd gel .i got the clear ,pink and white builder gels.
also bought uv top coat.
i did a set of overlays and they where slightly yellow and i dont know why?
i have a bio sculpture lamp to use that to cure them . also i did all prep first did the cutiles, buff them then used normal prep solution then applied supernail primer.
appied a thin layer of clear and cured for 30 sec.then 2 coats of white which i noticed the frech tip went out of shape by the time i finshed all nails and had to do quickly again berfore curing.cured both coats for 3mins.
then a thick layer of clear again cured for 3mins.then wiped with asap finish wipe.
then top coat which didn leave a high shine.
i no i am using alot of different products but i always did this with bio scupture and had no probs plus i am trying to keep my costing down as i justing setting up on my own also i noticed that when i used the pink it came out like a clear colour.
My main problem is the yellowing though.
i would grateful for any tips on this.thanks

Unfortunately the answer is probably the fact that you have cherry picked from various different brands. If you are doing this on a paying client and they had a reaction and chose to sue you, your insurance would not cover you as you are not following manufacturers recommendations.

yes probably right i will buy an the rest of ibd products.
but do u think the lamp is necessary cause they cured well ?

also why did my whites run

Well, I use ibd as well and have no problem. Some ideas though... If your top coat is not shiny, it means it is not fully cured (I hope the top coat is fairly new, not older than the ibd recommendation). Your bulbs might need replacement or the top coat needs an extra minute or two. You can't overcure the product so don't worry to leave it there a bit longer. Do you shape/file your nail before you put the top coat over? If you do, that's ok, if not, do not remove the tacky residue (or however you spell it, sorry, I am not a native speaker). And runny white... I am not too good at it either but I do always one finger on one hand, cure it for a bit and work on the other hand, and keep switching after each finger. When I do the last one, I cure a whole hand for 3 minutes. But I can do all 5 fingers with French Xtreme from ibd;-). It is also thick enough for sculpting. And about the ibd lamp... Well, I have two of them, one 9 W and then the ibd 3000 but I also use different lamps and have no problems as long as the bulbs are fine. So it should not have any influence on yellowing. And the top coat one more time - I really love ibd Intense seal, the best top coat ever! Linda

If you want a pinker pink then use one of the extreme gels.

Don't mix your products, and there is a Doug Schoon article about UV lamps and gels and i believe yes you can over cure.

I have used IBD for years and never had any yellowing, follow the instructions they dont make them up for s**ts and giggles lol good luck huni.

Out of interest what made you change from Bio?
