33 year old white male, quite lucky that I don't appear to be loosing much hair, maybe some normal age thinning.

Main concern is forever I've had dry hair, hair also fine but reasonably thick density.

I tend to only wash it once a week, however I'm locked in a stalemate.

If I wash more it goes dry, loses natural oils, feels thinner, lacks structure (flops) and when blow dried is fluffy. I can get it right but 1-4 days from washing it's a bit of a pain.

If I don't wash it, I get some body, natural oils come back and after stroking the oils down the stands I get some ressembalance of normalish looking hair.

However, by this point the gel and hairspray I used on the first 3 - 4 days have built up and I seem to get a tacky build up.

It's annoying as I much prefer my hair when I don't wash it but clearly I can't go without washing when I rely on products to style.

In between i use a bit of dry shampoo and because it's wavy / curly and thin stranded I rely on product and a dryer to keep it in a manageable shape and give some volume. Although I do limit dryer use by towel drying and using the dryer on the last bit with heat protector.

I water wash everyday. Would love to keep washing less but any tips on keeping the oils but removing product build up?

Thanks

Ps I did try burts bees shampoo for my once weekly wash and it doesn't seem to touch my hair and the product build up doesn't really get removed.

I have wondered whether I should try burts bees every 2nd day so it hasn't got as much work to do.

Do I do just the roots/scalp or the entire strand? Hair is eye length on top.
