I have currently no access to Igora or Wella developers...
But have access to alfaparf developer.
Do you know if it okay to use another brand's developer with eg. Igora or wella koleston?
Thanks in advance,
Louise

Hi there.
I use Igora and sometimes Koleston and I use the basics creme peroxide all the time. Its all just peroxide at the end of the day. As long as you have the right strength its all the same.
The only exception with branded developers is that they may have added conditioners in them, which I suppose makes them better than the cheaper ones.
All color houses will tell you to use their own developers because it makes them more money.
:):)

Hi

Well you can use cheaper peroxides but last month we renewed our insurance for the shop and we had to go into real detail, and i was quite shocked about the legal side of developers, for example if you use Matrix color and matrix developer you are Covered but if i use matrix color with a lesser known brand your insurance is invalidated !!! if that customer has a reaction even if you do a skin test, the insurance company will take tests samples form tint brushes and the hair of the complaint and will swab for tests, as they had a salon recently who did this and it was a costly mistake that cost them £28,000.
If i am being honest we did use a cheaper peroxide and got results but now we are on proper peroxide the color is more radiant, shinier, last longer and makes my work look tons better. so it is a small price to pay to be a professional
