Hello! My natural hair color is a 5N but it has been dyed to about a 6G. I strongly dislike the warmness of my current hair, especially with my skin tone. I want to get down to a level 4 or 3; a dark, neutral leaning cool dark brown hair color with no reds. Sorry, my mistake for putting chestnut!
Firstly, what is the difference between a permanent and a permanent hair dye besides the obvious lasting time? Would a demi-permanent hair dye provide an opaque (for a lack of a better word) color or does it provide a tint to the hair? Will it darken the hair?
In my case, should I get an ash or neutral hair dye if I want to cancel the warmness of my hair and achieve a neutral brown color?
I have plenty of hair growth, so when dying my hair should I begin with the previously dyed hair and then do my roots? If so, what is an approximation in the time to wait between before I do my roots?
