Hi
I’ve recently qualified as a lvl 2 nail technician and am planning to work mobile and from home. I have a company name as I want to make business cards to get my name out but but I don’t want to charge money yet as I want people to come to me for free to get all the practice I can get before I register as a company. I don’t want to do anything without being insured but can I obtain liability insurance to be safe without being an actual company yet? Please let me know? Thanks

A lot of insurances offer student insurance which covers you until you get your certificate but once you have that you should be able to get full therapist insurance x

I have my certificates but don’t want to register as a company while I’m not charging money tho. Do you think I could still be covered as an in registered company?

I think this is two different things. If you are qualified and offer a treatment you need to have insurance in place to make sure you are covered. This would be independent of being mobile, in a salon or at home and it doesnt matter if you do it alongside your full time employment or you are sole trade etc.
Even if you dont want to charge because you are still practicing you can still charge a small amount to cover for your product cost and you can advertise this as ‘models needed to build your portfolio’ but you would still need to be insured for this x
