Is a semi enough to cover lots of grey? My friend won't use anything else (qualified hairdresser) but surly if it's not a permanent colour it won't last? X

A semi can cover up to 70% grey hair. (Loreal) x

Thanks for reply. It probably sounds like silly question but if it's not permanent surly it will eventually fade badly? X

They dont fade badly, they just mask the grey and eventually fade out so you dont get a prominent regrowth line. X

Thank you for taking the time to reply, I get it now :) just wish my friend had of explained it like that x

You won't get full blanket coverage, it's translucent so only cover each white hair 75% ( depending on what brand).

Permanent cover 100% of the white hair.

Thanks for replying. I have a lot of very bright white (like tip ex) in patches. So I'm thinking a semis not for me, think the fade off would b manageable as I need it dyeing so regular but I don't want the white to be lighter. Thanks ladies ;) x

What has been out on it in the past? Semi works for me a lot of the time.

I've had bleach in the past so still have some on the lower ends (about 4 inches) I then went to a different hairdresser for a little while and it's now brown but I have no idea what was used. About a month ago I touched up my roots regroth (about an inch) with a box colour which I won't be doing again as it was messy and didn't cover the white anyway. I was desperate and going out last min and can't stand seeing the white in this lovely sunshine. My hair is naturally dark brown so when the sun shines the white bits look horrendous :( x

I use a product called colour touch plus, it's designed for grey hair but is a semi, without being able to see you I couldn't say for sure but I'd probably use this on you.

Thanks kimi I'll pop into a couple of my local hairdressers and see what they offer. Hopefully one will have the product you use or something similar x

In hairdressing, there are many ways to skin a cat. Some may come here and think my advice or technique isn't right, as long as you get the result that suits you! All the best!
