Hi Guys!
My OPI GelColor kit came on Tuesday!
I was so excited!!
Gave it a try today (I havent used any other Gel Polish before) using im not really a waitress and its brilliant I loved it! The lamp is wonderful! And the colours are gorgeous!
Only problem I had was once I had applied the top coat and cured then removed residue some of the colour had come off onto the wipe I removed residue with? Is that normal?
I am really looking forward to buying some more colours to get my collection going!! Does anyone have any layering combos sussed out already?
Also sounds a bit thick but what colour would everyone say Lincoln Park After Dark is? To me it looks black?

hey, fab thats ur loving the new opi colours!

just to let you know that it is quite normal for some colour to come off when removing the sticky residue in regard to gels :)

have fun experimenting!

Chelle, so excited for you!! Think Lincoln Park after Dark is a deep aubergine/brown - I have the polish - I'm sure the Gel is a perfect match! Look forward to seeing your pictures!! I want to know what the Kyoto Pearl looks like as the polish is quite sheer from what I can remember??

Keep us updated!!!

Hi I don't use this system but I loved Lincoln park after dark. To me it is a deep purple. Very deep and you can only usually notice its purple in the daylight.

With shellac if colour comes off when wiping the sticky layer off it means you haven't covered all the colour with top coat. It might be that? Or it might just be that some colour comes off.

I know if you have colour on the pad when you wipe the shellac inhibition layer off it means the top coat hasn't covered all the colour so it isn't sealed.
Was taught you shouldn't have any colour on the pad, however I'm sure an opi expert will confirm whether this is the case :)

I am sure that Lolly22 and Embellir are right. If you have colour coming off when when you wipe it means you haven't fully covered and sealed your colour with your topcoat. Certainly this is true for Gelish and Gelicure.

Hi Girls!
Thank you for all your replies!
Will practice again at getting the nail fully covered in topcoat!!
Attached is my mums nails I did yesterday, without training I feel quite proud.
The colour she is wearing is 'Im Not Really A Waitress' x

How did you buy this without training? I would like to use OPI gelcolour as i use there polishes but i was always under the impression Lena White wouldn't distribute without the qualification x

Tranquility - they will sell to you if you hold a Manicure & Pedi cert.

I quote from Lena White New Business consultant "The training is not compulsory, but is recommended as anyone who does not book onto a course, will not be given any technical support apart from troubleshooting hints and tips".

I would love to do the course, but my circumstances make it very difficult.

Hi,
I ordered the kit and booked the training with it as I have no experience in Gel Polishes so thought a course was the best idea!
You receive the kit two weeks before your course, mine came 1 week before cause I booked last minute as they like you to practice so you can bring any problems to the course! Training is on 1st March!

Glad you're enjoying the gel! It sounds like you might not have covered the whole surface with your top coat if there is colour wiping off. If you've sealed it all in with the top coat it would only be clear residue that you would wipe off at the end. You would be able to see if you'd done this because the nail will be dull where there is no top coat.
In answer to some of the other queries although we do recommend training it isn't compulsory and as long as you are trained in manicure/pedicure you can purchase GelColor. We have some on-line hints and tips to help anyone who might need help but the best way to get the best from any system is to do the training if you can. The workshop is only 3 hours for nail techs and the beginner course is 5 hours for those with no enhancement experience. If you want any further info please call us - 01923 240010 and we'll be happy to help!
