I have practised acrylics on friends and family a few times and they last fine and the natural nails are fine as soon as they are removed. But then the next day, the nails seem to be torn or jagged somewhat. Is this something I am doing wrong? What can I do to prevent this?

Thank you

After acrylics are removed the natural nail is soft and weak so will easily split crack or break. They will need to be kept short until they get stronger. This can take around 3-4 months if no more acrylic is applied. :)

So it's not particularly something that I am doing wrong during application or removal?

I always recommend my clients have a gel polish when I have removed acrylics as the nails are always soft and can tear easily. Also use solar oil :)

Can I just ask are you a nail pro? Your profile says n/a
If you aren't then I wouldn't recommend applying acrylics until you are trained/training.

I am currently in college studying for NVQ Level 2 in Nail Services. Just practising on friends and family in spare time and during assessments.

Ah ok hun :)
It's not anything your doing wrong. Like I say I recommend gel polish but if you don't have this then tell them just to be careful and apply solar oil or similar. Hth x

Yeah I do apply cuticle oil after application and advise them to use it while they have the acrylics on.

Thank you for your help and advice :o
