Hiya, can any one tell me if this spray is just like the dreaded sun in?

One of my client's is on about using it, but from her description that is what it sounds like.

I advised her agaist using it, as I recommended professional products, but would like some more info about this product.

I've been told that it is. I'd be a bit dubious about products that "lighten" your hair anyway.

I had a client in for her colour last week and she told me about those kinda products she was using and I stopped colouring and starting checking my colour. She panicked and was like "are those products no good?" and when I finished checking my foils I said "yeah, but...They've been known to react with our colours and make you look like barney the dinosaur." She bought a Paul Mitchell Colour Pack ;)

Best way to find out if it is, is to do a strand test in perm lotion and see if it heats up or smokes. :)

You can also get the shampoo & conditioner blonder by John Frieda aswell. It says it gradually lightens giving you that sunkissed sparkle, yeh whatever John!

This is what John says on his website, Versatile, patent-pending formula with citrus and chamomile works with styling heat to gradually lighten and brighten for a natural-looking, blonder blonde. Contains thermo-protectant. Patent-pending technology combines fixative and conditioning polymers that retain hydrogen peroxide, allowing for control of lightening. Visibly lightens in 3-5 uses.

:cry:I have been using this product for about 3 weeks just on my parting, all was fine at first, and yes it does work. But recently were I have been using the spray my hair started to go very dry and straw like, and has now started to break off. I will not be using this product again.:(

I would deffinatly stay away from all the product like this. stick to the proffessionals!
The risk of dry mancky gingery tinged hair is not worth it!

no no no its so bad! there was a thread on here about this product not to long ago and someone had put a photo up of what it had done to there hair. it had all broken of teribly at the roots so id personally stay way away lol!

just found the thread i was talking about its titled Mortified at my clients hair....

Yeah it's just like sun in. A client of mine used it and when I did her highlights the foils went really warm, I only left on for about 10mins because I was worried about a reaction. Her hair was like straw (before I coloured it). She bought a conditioning treatment afterwards and also a blue shampoo to lift her blonde instead of the dreaded spray!x

Ahh the amount of people I've had to convince not to use this rubbish in the past seven months is unbelievable!

I think part of it is because it has a celebrity hairdresser name to it so they all think it's good salon quality stuff. xx
