I was asked to do some Walking Dead themed nails and I came up with these samples and put them on my Facebook page so the lady could see them. She loved them and is excited about coming tomorrow for them and wrote a lovely comment but someone else has just posted this 'I love the middle one. So simple!' I am trying soooo hard not to bite my tongue. I know they're not amazing and all that and I'm no expert but I was pleased with these and they took a lot of thought and definitely weren't simple to me!! Grrrr.
Rant over. Just needed to have a little vent if that's ok. The lady that wants them loves them and I guess that's all that matters 😜

Maybe she didn't mean simple as in easy to do, just that they're not really fussy.

You've put a lot of effort into them and if you think about some other nail art designs, you couldn't necessarily count them as 'simple', whereas to look at, this is.

Bearing in mind as well that the person was paying you a compliment too because she said that she loved them!

I don't think she was putting you down, she just obviously doesn't have much of a way with words xx

lol dont be offended, its how it looks to her, she means it doesnt look over done.

Sometimes people like the things that look the most simplistic, even though it prob took u a while to do x

There brilliant :))

I think they look great! How did you get the picture effect on the second and third nails? x

Hey, I don't know why you took an offense to that comment, simple meaning "not overcrowded, over the top, fussy" at the end of the day clients don't realise the time that goes into nail art and effort with accuracy and colours matching ect, plus they could never achieve that look themselves, if someone commented on my work and used that word I'd interpret it as "a job well done as my skill has made my work look effortless" well done :)

I agree with the others. I think simple, in this context, means cleanly elegant and not fussy. They look great!

Thanks all of you for replying.
In all honesty I think I was a bit stressed yesterday ( one oft chose days and I'm only human!) And I think I completely overreacted! I agree with you all. Think I was being over sensitive. At the end of the day she was just being nice. And even if she wasn't I'm usually a strong believer in each to their own opinion etc. Thank goodness I bit my tongue and had a whinge on here instead haha!
Thanks again though xxx

Hi
Thank you! All of the backgrounds are airbrushed and then on the third one I added a water decal for the man x

love them !!! love The Walking Dead !!! I'd like a Daryl/Rick sandwich please  :wink2: lol

Spooky!!

It is un un fussy design and in fact could be easily and quickly reproduced using CND additives so win win. In fact I think I will do it today for a demo I am doing. Thanks for the inspiration. I shall do it the other way around so the red is at the tip and the black starts at the eponychium.

I will start with Shellac colour CityScape then use a very soft brush with the black Additive. Do a drip for the moon and then add some irredescent pearl to the moon and then a few clouds across the moon with a touch more of the additive. Finishing off with the red additive at the tip.

I love to do airbrushing but the additives are so quick and no equipment but a few soft brushes. No masking up, very little clean up. You would probably love doing it.

Aww thank you Gigi! Yes I would like it in mine that way round with the red on the tips.
I am sure I would love the additives and am so often inspired by the work people do with them. They are amazing. But my other half bought me the airbrush and it is a good one and it took me a while to get the hang of and feel confident with it but now I do I have to say I love it! I know it's probably more time consuming cleaning than additives but I just don't want to see the money from it wasted and I enjoy doing it. My ladies feel like they're getting something different and I do push it for most things.
At some point I probably will try them though! Xx
