Koleston Perfect

Hi, I'm hoping someone may be able to help me?

I've used koleston perfect 55/65 with 6% Welloxon developer and I am struggling with the dye transferring on to anything my hair touches, between dying and the first wash.

Last time I dyed it I rinsed my hair thoroughly for at least 20 minutes (and applied 2 lots of conditioner) but the water still ran pink and covered my hands when I straightened it after blow drying. I've also noticed that the colour will fade out very quickly where I've had it up in a ponytail.

I originally used Majicontrast red with 9% developer and never had any problems.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way I can stop the colour transferring during the time between dying and the first wash?

Sorry but its against site rules to give chemical advice to non pros.

However i can in fact tell you that you're doing something wrong: by not going to a hairdresser you're on effect doing something wrong.

Sorry if this breaks the rules but....

Did you shampoo it twice before conditioning?
You might simply have to accept that it's a very vibrant colour and will transfer onto everything until it settles down
