hi, i went on the ons l&p course today and even though i knew it would smell didnt realise how bad. Im really worried because i work in a hair salon, that it may be to over powering fo the customers and that the lady i rent off wont allow me to use it. Is there anything i can do to help ease the smell

There are many things you can do to lower odour - use the SEARCH button and check it out! Put in the word Odour - this will help you! BTW, what is ons??

thank you for replying, i should have put odyssey instead of ons.

no probs - just a couple of things regarding odour... (did they go through this with you on the course??)

  • Proper Ventilation (ventialte don't circulate)
  • Metal bin with lid (cuts odour 70%)
  • Only keep enough liquid in dappen dish for each client (less liquid wastage) and keep lid on dappen dish at all times! When you are physically applying L+P - (should take 15/20 mins) that's the only time lid is off - not a long time in hind sight!!!
TTFN;)

Hiya Alison,
How many people were there on your course and what was the ventilation like?
Just wondering as obviously the smell would have been a bit stronger with, say, 6 of you in one room and probably working at desks with no extractors or filters than a single one of you with the proper ventilation. That said, I do find with my ONS monomer that I can smell it to an extent even when I open my nail case and the bottle is in there with the lid on.
Luckily I don't mind the smell too much!
Lol x
