I mainly do lash extensions but I've recently started doing lash lifting to help with those clients who have really straight, downward facing lashes.

I am finding that the Salon System adhesive is RUBBISH! and I just can't get the lashes to stick to the silicone pads.

Is there a knack to it or can anyone suggest a better adhesive?

Thanks

I have just bought this system but haven't used it yet (only patch tested my friend today). I'll be interested to see what the responses are to this. Sorry I can't be any help :-( xx

Completely agree!! I spoke to the makers and I spoke to Capital and neither were of any use.

I had previously used the Amirose perming products and the glue did what it was supposed to do - stick.

Thought I would try the lift system after Capital stopped stocking the Amirose products and the adhesive is useless.

I have now purchased perming adhesive from AH Francis, this glue is a fast acting adhesive so you only have 10 seconds to sweep the lashes back on to the perming rod but at least it works.

I haven't tried using the silicon lash lift pads since but maybe I'll give them another try with this other adhesive.

Maybe try letting the glue set for a few seconds until it gets tacky before trying to stick the lashes on?

Tried that, just had no stick at all.

Thanks girls,

Weezie, Yes, I tried that but it really was hopeless. £13 for a tiny bottle as well. Am not a happy bunny.

May give the AH francis one a try but 10 seconds to get it right! Gulp!!!

No pressure then! LOL

Have you tried the i-appeal instead? Id recommend it, to be fair anything else is usually better than ss! Some ppl get along with it, some dont.

Let us know what you think of the new adhesive:)

Try getting your client to curl the lashes gently before hand with an eyelash curler, and let the glue dry a few seconds first. Every lttle helps. We don't have much problem with the SS glue. x

I'm just off the phone to them to see if they had any suggestions as how to not waste a whole sachet on one patch test, and asked them also about the adhesive. They said they have recently improved the formula and have received no complaints. Still yet to try it as I only patch tested my friend yesterday, but I'll keep you posted :) xx

I use the Nouveau LVL Bonding Adhesive.

I take a cocktail stick and pull the lashes back onto silicone, press down a bit and hold to let the adhesive stick. Apply more adhesive and let it dry for about a minute before putting on the lifting solution.

That's what I thought!!! I loved my amirose very sticky adhesive.

If you look at the AH Francis site they have a couple of short videos showing the perming process and you can see how quickly they sweep they lashes back onto the perming rod with a finger.

When I used the Amirose kit I always used a cocktail stick as someone mentioned earlier. The finger thing is quite good though.

I'm interested to hear about the results now you've tried. I'm about to attend the lash lift course and don't want to buy something if there seems to be several problems with ss.
Thx

They may show you the perfect way to do it and you won't have any problems.

If they do, perhaps you can share :D

The rest of the products are great and give good results. I've bought the new SS adhesive but am yet to try it.

Just a side note; if you havn't already attended training for lash lift or lash perm you need to in ordere for your insurance to cover you. Standard Lash treatments ie tint and exts don't cover it. x

No not yet :-( I've done the patch test , but when my friend is available, I'm busy and vice versa. I'm dying to!! Lol. I did perming in my level 2 :) xx

Just thought that I'd update you all...

Carried out the treatment today on my friend. According to the instructions, it doesn't specify if you cover the eyes with cling film and a towel (like you do in perming). I did it anyway, but found after I removed it to go onto the fixing stage, the lashes were coming away from the silicone roller?

The adhesives not great, but after a bit of footering, I got them to stick eventually xx

Hi i was interested to read this thread, i wondered if anyone else had given a different adhesive a try? i did a perming course years ago but never had much call for it from clients. However the LVL i have seen looks really good and would love to give it a go but dont realy want to retrain in something which is basically eyelash perming with a twist iykwim
Am i right in saying the the new ss kit is the same type of service as the LVL which looks fab? or is it again with rods but just updated repackaged?
thanks for any help! :green:
