My eyelashes do not curl up at all so I've used curlers for decades, as a result they've got a tad bald!!! I'm using Revitalash at the moment and I'm so impressed with it as my lashes are now becoming quite thick and full. Anyway, there's a salon nearby that offers eyelash perming and I was wondering whether anyone could give me any advice on it please, as in does it really work and how long would it last? And how do they prevent the lotion getting into your eyes!??

Hi. I'm trained in lash perming.
It's a great treatment and lasts a month or so ( when your permed lash falls out and another grows in- it grows in straight)
Your lashes would probably benefit from a tint after the perm. This can be done at the same appointment.
Small sticky rollers are applied to your lashes and the lashes curled around them. The lotion is only applied to the 'curl' and not right up to the root of the lash It's creamy so doesn't run into your eye.
I'd recommend it. ! 😀

A cream sounds more safe, I was worried it would run into my eyes!!! Not sure I'd need a tint as well cos mine are really dark anyway. Just need to book an appointment now I know what to expect!! Thanks for the reply

Hey Geeks, do you need to patch test for lash perming? Looking to reintroduce this treatment soon. Never patch tested before as was never trained to. Any help?

Yes. A patch test is adviseable

Put a tiny amount of perm lotion on a cotton bud and rub it behind the clients ear. Repeat with fixing lotion.
Any reaction ( itchy, red or raised skin) should appear within an hour or so.
If all is ok, you can continue with the treatment.

Would you also try the glue on the eye lid? As behind your ear isn't as sensitive? I know some people are more probe to reactions from glue than anything else?

Wouldn't try glue on eyelid in case there IS a reaction. 😳
Behind ear is best and if it reacts there, at least it's easily removed and treated.
(You could try it on inside of elbow - but not really practical if you want to straighten your arm later ) Lol. 😜

My insurance told me it's best to apply the products the the area or to attach a few lashes to the corner. This will give a better result if someone was to react. I suppose it's a case of manufacturers advise and insurance guild lines. It's very confusing for anyone. I would say go off your insurance.

I've taken the plunge and having my lashes permed today at 2pm!! Really nervous so I'm hoping I'll be ok. Thanks for describing how it's done tho as I wouldn't have booked otherwise!!

Well........ did you like the result ????
