well i found myself in need of a hand model for a 121 with a friend.. so i invited my cleint to sit down with me.. i thought if i involved her she might take more care with her nails..i didnt charge her, but i did say that was because shewould be doing m ea favour and would proceed as normal afterwar/ds.

I am not very confident with sculpting yet.. but aside from my smile lines everything is falling into place.. thanks so much to my kindgeeky friend for taking to the time to observe.. the tips i recvieved made the world of difference.
end result is this...

I think you have done a great job here. Not only have you taken the time to think about this client and help her... you have helped her in a personal way too and she has opened up to you... you may have helped her more than you know. Well done for being a great nail professional and a decent human being!!:hug:

Chels... Thanks for posting the pics of your work. I hope you don't mind me posting some comments as what I can observe, I feel I can't make some valuable contibutions that may help your clients too. Really just 2 things.

One... this client has no free edge and I know you haven't created talons here BUT... they are still too long for her. Clients like her will break them simply because they go from one extreme of having nada to the next having free edge that they're not used to. When natural nails are that short to begin with, they need barely any free edge until their own nails grow and they start to get used to having length at all.

My only other comment (and I know you weren't asking for nail critique but... :lol: we're here to help)... the enhancments are too wide. If you took an abrasive and whipped it back over the top and down the sides tailoring the look... they would appear thinner and prettier for her fingers which are slightly plump (in other words... the coating also adds to her fingers looking plumper too).

I so hope you don't mind me making comments; there really is nothing wrong with your work but I am purley giving you advice that could make it look even better! :hug:

without critique and encouragement i would be nowhere... well i would be plodding along doing unbalanced porn star nails.. because thats all i thought nail were about! I look forward to taking your advice.. and learning from it.

Unbalanced porn star nails... hey honey... welcome to the UK... we call them WAG nails too (Wife/girlfriend of footballers)... btw... I reckon you guys could make serious money from the pornstar industry... they all have nails done and most look pretty rank to be honest! I reckon a girl could make a very decent living... marketing would be amusing too I think!! :lol:
