Hi everyone.
Please an you let me know what your recommendations for essential glitters are? Esp for the Xmas period. Would like a really good gold and red. What are your faves? X

Thanks xx

Following! Sorry I cant be of any help . Am just starting out again but figured it would be good to get going right before the chrsitmas period !

Silly question as you know about glitters... can you put glitters over any gel polishes? Or do you have to , for instance, use Lecente only with the Shellac range and Magpie with another etc? x

My fav Magpie glitters are:
Scarlett - red holographic
Suzie - light gold holographic
Lily - Irridecent white
Hollie - Teal Green Metallic
Angel - white diamond effect
Amelia - champange holographic
Emily - blue holographic
Millie - purple holographic x

thank you will note them down ! can you put them over any polish/gel ? x

Magpie for Christmas
Ruby or Scarlett
Angel or Angelina
Alice
Holly or Willow
Goldie or Jules
Wendy
Sylvia or Lola

My favourites are Amelia, Wendy, Angel, Anastasia, Hazel, India, Grace and Bell
I prefer the metallics sprinkled into the 2nd layer of colour and cured then excess brushed off before top coating twice however I prefer the holos burnished in

You can use them over any brand of gel polish you like.
I have the full Magpie collection plus lots of Lecente but Magpie is definitely my favourite.

Thanks Cinderella. If you sprinkle onto second layer but not burnish, does that give a more sparky effect? Does the excess glitter not go into your top coat? X

It does. The metallics look foiled if you burnish them.
Here's a video which shows the difference.
There are lots more fab videos too

I use a nail brush to scrub the excess off after sprinkling and pour it over a sheet up paper so I don't waste any.
I always use a separate top coat for glitters

Aah I really want some of these!!! The applicator brush from magpie is out of stock, anyone got any other suggestions re applicators? X

I couldn't get hold of the magpie applicator brush either so I bought a 'fluffy' eyeshadow brush to make do til it was back in stock but it works so perfectly that I never bothered ordering the magpie brush!

Once I forgot to bring my applicator brush to a client, and I just used a back up square gel brush, worked just as well, but I won't use it with gel again, as I don't want glitter bits in there. :)

Hey :) Lecente Babydoll is a gorgeous rose gold colour and very popular in the salon I work in. Spark (holo silver) and Mortar (purple holo mix) are both lovely too. Those are the only ones off the top of my head i can think of lol. xxx

Thanks cara-las I did wonder if an eyeshadow brush might do the job!! X
