Hi has anyone been using Lecente Create gel Polish with different brands base / top coats? I’ve mixed brands for many years and had no issues but the Lecente has chipped badly... I did use 3 thin coats instead of one thick coat.
All help and ideas needed please 🌟

I use lecente and shellac systems.
They are very different so don’t mix and match.

Mixing brands doesn’t necessarily show up immediately in a finished product. It may not show up on a client for months or years, but experts agree that eventually there will be problems.

Brands are formulated to work within the product line. It’s not just a ploy to ‘lock’ you into a brand with all its many items.

Yes, it’s great to use this or that top coat, it’s your favorite, but it belongs on it’s matched gel polish. I had a tech bring in a ‘universal’ gel top coat. She said she read the product info. I read it again and yes, it is ‘universal’,but only within the product line. That part was overlooked.

I know that it’s expensive to have a few different gel lines, however, you will be assured of proper application, cure and wear if you do as the brand asks.

Oh, what a shame - looks like I’ll have to get the Lecente top / base. I’ve always used Shellac, Jessica geleration, orly, trugel and Gelish, with Gelish top & base and thought Lecente would be the same. Thanks for your comment 🌸

I did look up the ingredients and compared them to Gelish and couldn’t identify any different chemicals 🤷‍♀️ Just doesn’t make sense to me and how can one LED lamp of the same bulb strength be any different from another?? Any ideas welcome...

You won’t be sorry to stay in the same line. I have had clients who just loved a certain color she saw on someone and well, I got a swatch and made my own.

I save all my Shellac bottles that are low and thickening. Sometimes I’ll have 100 in a drawer. I have been almost 100% successful in making the color I need. I write the approximate amounts. I always keep a couple bottles of Clearly Pink on hand for mixing.

A few years ago CND had a pigment collection that had a thin spatula with it. I guard that stick like it’s pure gold. Shellac always needs stirring.

This has helped me to only have to use OPI and CND and only two brands of lamps.
