Hi! So I came home with the wrong color from Cosmo prof and didn't notice until it had been on for 30 min. Normally, I am a level 7 warm red. What I ended up with is a level 6 warm/cool red blend. I've been washing the heck out of it to try and fade it but I really hate the darker cool tone. Anything I can do to lift it without using bleach? Also I read that hot olive oil will help fade it. Anyone try that? Thanks in advance!

Your post is quite confusing. The undertone of 7 is orange/yellow not red so I don’t see how you can be a warm red level 7?
Also, it’s worrying that you didn’t notice that you bought the wrong tube? It states the colour on the box and the tube. What if it had been a client?

I take it you usually colour your hair with a warm level 7 red colour?
I think years ago they used to use hot oil treatments to lighten the colour. My nan always said that. Whether it works or how true it is I don't know lol, as for the colour, there isn't much you can do other than either wait for it to fade? Or remove it.
You could just try bleach and water which will remove tone only. This won't damage the hair, and then will allow you to apply a warmer colour cover the top. Hope this helps!

Thanks Ron! Yes, I usually use a level 7 coppery auburn. Which I had in my cart. I, by mistake, had the sales lady put back the wrong one. Dang it! Thanks for the advice on the hot oil as well. I may try it when I get some time and let you know. In the meantime I've been washing every day to try and fade it. Getting there. It's only been a week so maybe in another week or so I'll give it another try. Appreciate it!!

Try a cleansing shampoo if you have one? Or dare I say it, the old faithful : washing up liquid.
