Hi geeks, I popped over from beauty for some advice.

I have always had naturally curly hair..like ringlets and went through a stack of mousse in my teens lol!
I hit 17 and discovered straighteners, hated my curls etc and I have straightened it mostly ever since maybe around 3 times a week for 7 years.

Now I always washed and combed my hair, scrunched mousse into the hair all over and left it to dry and i had gorgeous curls with volume.

Now I try to do it and a lot of my lengths are nearly straight with very curly roots and my fringe is totally straight! I also have no volume left. I'm using Shockwaves ultra hold mousse. :( now I'm old enough to see how blessed I am to have curls, I want them. Have they gone forever?

Hoping for some help
Curl less girlie

hi fluffydreams,

I'm not a hair geek but I think you and I have very similar hair by the sounds of it and mine was being very badly behaved for I can't remember how long when I wanted it curly again.

I was given some Guru hair serum (I'll get the proper name when I get home tonight) and it is just fabulous. It stops the frizz I was getting and makes it really really curly, even around the front where without anything it just looks pathetic.

I got it from my local wholesaler so it should be pretty widely available. I'll edit this later with the proper name for you.

Hope that helps a bit

T.x

om only a training hair geek lol... but you will not of lost your curls for ever as the way your hair grows from roots determines if its straight curly etc.. and you say its curly at the roots still so sounds like the lengths might be a little damaged.. id say give your hair a good conditioning treatment like a leave in one... and then when washed apply some curl enhanchment mousse but not loads just a ample amount and then apply heat spray and tip your head over then scrunch dry with hairdryer to help it set more quickly... see if that does the trick x

Back as promised :

Its by Professional Guru and called Magic Blowdry Potion. I've got hair that's pretty much 2-3" past my shoulder and fairly thick and I need 2 pumps of it.

xx

Best thing I can advise is go and see this man, people travel for miles for his curly expertise... just look at his pictures!

If your hair is growing curly from the roots then your laughing. You will probabaly need to grow out your straight bits. Your hair has been straightened so much over the years it may have had the curls almost knocked out so to speak.

You need to stop straightening it as much , or maybe at all. Or if your hair is in good enough condition you could have it permed to try and match the ends to the roots.

Thanks for the advice geeks

I will definitely try that product Tracy.

I kinda thought it may be from the years of straightening it, but each time it's always bounced back to spiral curls, not this time though. I would love to not straighten it at all but leaving it natural it looks neither straight nor curly and very flat and it just looks a mess :(

Gonna try that product & try not to straighten :)
