Ok, the confession:

I home-highlighted my hair the night before my vacation. A sin, I know. :Scared:

Since then, my curls have utterly disappeared. Like, nowhere to be found. I didn't have a complete mass of curls, just hair like Katherine Heigle or Jessica Simpson. Loose, bouncy and always dry. I rarely used product on it at all (maybe 2x a month and never an iron or straightener). It was colored occasionally. This time, I had spent time in the pool for a few weeks but I was really careful about protecting it as best I could and conditioning it well. It was definitely the highlighting that caused it but maybe something contributed to it?

Of course, my question is: can I get them back? I'm trying to get my hair super-conditioned so it isn't so dry. I'm washing every other day but...nothing. I tried once to "do" it with an iron, gel and spray but the curl went dead in 10 minutes. Before, I'd have curls for DAYS.

PLEASE tell me they'll grow back! I have shoulder length hair now but I'd be willing to cut it off if necessary. I never liked straight hair - I don't have the pretty delicate face for it. I look so goofy.

Id say it probably is the highlights , some people it doesnt affect too much , but I always lose my curls when I have bleach in my hair . Just carry on the good work with conditioning treatments and trims and they will come back . Depending on your type of hair some pomade may also help , go to a professional salon for product advice.
