I've recently been gradually having my hair toned down from bright blonde to my natural colour. I decided I wanted to go darker so after 4 months I've gone a full head of LK Tropical brown I think she used and also ran some blonde thought the ends.

At first my roots were so red but she said after a few washed it would go and it has so now I've got a lovely brown. But lost all my shine?

Any recommendations on how to get it back? I use Faith in Nature shampoo and conditioner and have done for a while but open for change, and also use coconut oil quite regularly. I wash my hair every 2-3 days.

Also forgot to mention. My hairdresser recommended Treseme shampoo and conditioner but I will not use anything OTC like Treseme, Pantene or Aussie etc

Going from such a bright blonde to a brown will make you feel like you've lost your shiny hair. I use osmo blinding shine illuminating finisher. It gives my hair lots of shine! X

Also the osmo blinding shine shampoo and conditioner is very good at adding shine! X

Have you tried flat ironing your hair to see if that helps? Use a protector spray first.

The shine is reflected light from the closed cuticle scales and if they're damaged, there's less shine.

I've no idea what LK Tropical brown is though. I'd also be a bit wary of a hairdresser who recommends crap products like Tresemme.

Thanks I will look into Osmo or go back to Tigi and see if they have anything.

Yeah after 4 months I've finally realised it's time for a change of colourist. I couldn't believe I was recommended tresemme!

I always straighten my hair or curl it and use protection it only ever looks slightly shiny an hour after a wash. My massage therapist is going through her hairdressing qualifications so I am going to have a chat with her as she has a few treatments.

It just looks so dull now. Maybe it's just me because it's not exactly how I wanted it!

Thanks for your help.
