I'm considering this but trying to weigh up the pros and cons of attracting (or keeping) new clients compared with losing a bit of money on already happy full paying regulars. It's a tough call.

Just wondered who uses a loyalty scheme and if you do, how many stamps you have to collect and what do you offer for completing a loyalty card?

And do you think it has helped your business?

I used to run a loyalty card (I'm mobile) so every visit they spent £20+ they got a stamp then £5 off their 6th stamp. Didn't work for me. Most clients forgot about it then I'd have to ask for it. When I didn't remind them they'd expect me to update it weeks later when they found it. My prices are already very reasonable so I felt like I was worse off when it was their £5 off one especially if I got a few in the same day. I stopped it in January and it hasn't affected my business at all. I still have the same clients xx

I tried a loyalty card with clients a number of years ago but I wouldn't do it again.
Why?:
-Hassle for all staff to do at the end of the appointment when they could be talking retail
- my prices are keen enough
- clients wanted the salon to keep their card for them (!!!!)
- didn't make any difference to clients being 'disloyal'

Those are my thoughts anyway! [emoji4]

Hi, I'm thinking of doing a loyalty card too but instead of giving money off after a certain amount of visits, I'm going to offer a free mini treatment (conditions are it has to be a treatment they don't normally have) eg if they have shellac nails I could offer a file and polish toes, or an eyebrows shape etc and hope they love the treatment and book in as an add on in future. I would maybe do this every 10th treatment but still deciding x

I do cash back they earn 10% of there treatment on the card so they spend £20 they get £2 on there card they can either have that on next treatment or save the card up & use it when they have more got this idea from another therapist
