Hi I am a beauty therapist working in a spa but looking to broaden my skills and go on a make up course.

I already do quite a lot of bridal make up but lack in advanced skills such as contouring etc.

I've been searching for courses but can't really find any suitable, most are over £1000 and half of the course is on setting up a business which I am not interested in at all.

Ideally I would be looking for something around 3-5 days for maybe around £500 at most, my work will probably help with some of the cost but they wouldn't cover that much of it.

Anyone with any knowledge or anyone who point me in the right directly would be much appreciated.

Hi amy, im in the makeup industry myself and i find the most popular way people take a intrest to makeup is buy doing a course with a local makeup artits. Maybe look into different makeup artists in your area that produce a style that you prefer or would like to learn. Obviously prices range depending on different factors such as how experianced they are, how good they are and other expenses such as where you would learn ect. I think its something worth looking into as different people offer different looks, prices, times and length of couses. Hope this helps! X

I went on a weeks' Jane Iredale course which I found invaluable. Look into it via the IIAA website [emoji4]

Hi how much did it cost ? And do you just pay for the training or do you have to buy into a product package thanks

Hello! Well I think it is as around a thousand however I signed up post grad straight from college so it was hugely reduced and no, there is no pressure at all to buy after the course, however, I did, then bought the mobile kit and have added further to it since. Once you experience the makeup range, you will be hooked too! [emoji7]

Jane Iredale training is great. You can do single days or the whole lot. I didn't think it was as much as £1000 but I may be wrong!

While it's a great course and the products are amazing, you are learning JI products so it may not be what you are looking for, but if you want to take on a retail range you can't go far wrong with JI x

I really cannot remember the cost, but I totally agree with Squidgernetball that as a retail range, it's fantastic! Good luck! x
