Hi girls, really after some advice on making my own stick tips, I did my first lot last night and got about 152 strands out of the lush us 18 inch weft, I know you need 200 to 250 depending on thickness, is there anyway around buying heavier wefts from somewhere else so I get double the amount

Your advice would be really helpful as I do approx 6-7 heads a week and love the idea if making my own stick tips even if it did take me 2 hours lol xx

Most wefts will weigh between 113g - 118g. Most I have made out of a weft was 220 but they where tiny bonds as the micro ring diameter was using at the time was very fine.

Your will need to purchase two packets for more bonds if you want them thicker

Thats a great idea, I am just starting to do the extensions in our salon as nobody else has the time or desire and we have been getting a lot of requests for them.. can I ask what do you use to make the i-tip? As I would love to make some myself!

Thanks!

I use an adhesive gun and a polyamide adhesive and roll them that way.

Ideally you will need two wefts to pre tip your own hair xx

I tried doing this as its a huge money saver...but found that some of the tips didn't fit in the rings! Are there slightly bigger rings around available?

Also....another thing that's confusing me a bit-as I've only just started doing hair extensions. They say a full head is 200-250 bonds, but is that 1 gram or 0.5 in weight? As I've got 250 0.5 bonds in my own hair and it still feels thin. Although I've done 3 clients with 100-150 1 gram bonds making a nice full head. What's the best way?
