In my humble opinion, there is little that Tom Ford can do that isn't fabulous. His female cosmetic line, his fragrances, his clothes are all well, fabulous and to top it off, he's one of the most handsome gay men, scratch that, one of the most handsome men I've ever laid eyes on. But, back to the point.
Now the fabulous (I think we've established that) Ford has created a cosmetics line for men and there's little doubt it won't live up to expectations. After the runaway success of his luxury female cosmetics line, it's no surprise that the savvy Tom Ford is forging his way into the ever-growing male market, but there are risks.
While men are happily buying moisturisers and face washes and all manner of grooming products, they aren't necessarily doing it at a luxury level. Evidence suggests that the majority of men like their products cost-effective and with a Tom Ford lipstick coming in at around £36.00 ($50.00), one has to wonder whether the men will be as willing to spend that kind of cash?
The new line will include a face cleanser, a moisturiser, an eye treatment, a purifying mud mask, a concealer, a bronzing gel and two new fragrances, reported WWD.com. On the upside, I can't help but think that David Beckham would be a fit and fitting face to advertise the range and frankly, any excuse to see David Beckham up close has got to be worth talking about.
Until then...geek on!
