Please can someone help!! I've always had thick, shiney, manageable hair which I had to wash every other day due to its greasy condition. Now, with age I have to have it coloured to cover the grey, I still have to wash it every other day as I still suffer from the greasiness, but this is more contained to about 2 inches from the root. The rest of the hair is completely and utterly bone dry, to the point that ends snap off when I comb it (always with a wide tooth comb).

I'm totally depressed about it now as I can't do anything with it, it won't blowdry into any shape as it just hangs straight, although I can get some sort of style with straighteners. I've read that it's best to avoid excessive heat as this takes all the moisture out if the hair, but honestly I wouldn't be able to go out if I couldn't use these!!! Always in the mornings, after I've slept on it, the ends are like a ball of straw and the only way to get rid of that ball is to get the straighteners on it - I want to say like chewing gum as I've heard this expression but unsure if this best describes it.

Please can someone advise me what shampoo and conditioner to use to help me sort it out. I have a trim every 4 weeks without fail when I have my roots coloured and I ve tried having the bad ends cut off completely with a 're-style but it grew back just the same. I did try using a Wella dry hair conditioning treatment and Morocco oil before drying but I found this just made my hair fluffy!! I always use a protecting spritz by Wella before blowdrying and straightening.

Hoping someone can advise me please

Hey sorry to hear about this, sounds like you need a clarifying shampoo for the oiliness this will help balance the ph of your hair, a few tips to help with the oiliness try not to wash your hair with hot water best to do it with cool water also before you even wash your hair put the shampoo on dry hair rub it in wash off and then do another shampoo this will stop accumulating more oil, I would then put a treatment to add protein back into your hair which sounds like that is what it needs if your hair is snapping off just do a treatment once a week apply just to the mid lengths and ends tie in a plait and leave overnight then wash off when you wake up.

Aveda do a great clarify shampoo scalp benefits and a treatment which has quinoa in so will add protein called damage remedy restructive treatment, Aveda products are naturally derived and are made by plant based ingredients and natural oils
Hope this helps
Let us know how you get on 😀

Thank you dollface. Can I buy these products at a wholesaler or do I have to find a salon who stock it?

You can only buy Aveda at an Aveda salon I think though you can buy it on amazon for a bit cheaper, with the shampoo all you need is a little bit the size of a broad bean then add loads of water to lather it up
