Hey,
Im look at doing a micro ring extension course, Just after a bit of recomendation as to which you think are the best ones to train in?
Jx

hiya micro rings are very popular now but they dont suit all hair types so you should do a course that offers couple of methods a lot of courses offer micro ring and bonded i trained with belle hair extensions then you have km training worth looking at their websites xx

Totally agree in training in a few methods of application. Lush-us uk do a fab training course which includes a full kit, you train on a live person NOT a head and they now have some form of online theory learning which you take prior to the course. Definately worth a look. Am very intrigued by what they've put on their website which is saying they will soon be offering an NVQ in Hair Extensions - not sure I've heard of any other hair extension company offering that before? Very positive!!

An NVQ? Thats good. I think training in a few methods is the best because everyone is after different things. Micro-rings are really popular at the moment as they don't use glue or heat but I personally like the fusion bonded as these show less on fine hair and are really undetectable so I want to be able to offer different options! I know connect do courses where you can pick three different methods of your choice for example.

Did you take a model with you? and was she there all day? or do they come at a different time??

yeah i took a model which proved much more beneficial than practising on a training head! they came with me and stayed until i was finished, we even had a buffet hehe! it was really good!!xxx

im booked in with lush us! Cant wait :D

aw well i hope you enjoy it!!!

Good luck and you will love it!

just on the back of this - I was wondering if anyone would recommend their expert training course, where they come out to your house and train you in all techniques? Obviously I want to do as many as possible but bit worried that it only takes a day? :S

Well you could always ring them and ask them if they offer something like that? I'm not too sure myself but it helps to ask!!

Would you prefer them to come to you and train? some companies offer one-to-one training but obviously more expensive. Otherwise there are good small groups of like 4-8 people in the courses. Lush Us courses seem to be talked about a lot and Belle.

Yeh they do offer it, I was just wondering what anyone thinks of it as some folk don't agree you can learn one technique properly in a day never mind all of them :S although it sounds fab I just don't want to half a*** it! :D x

Well you can't learn it in one day really. That is why id recommend to do one technique at a time and then not see it as a one day course but just an introduction and then continue learning on your own and practising LOTS and LOTS and getting every type of info you can before even starting. There should be NVQ level courses really, and not just intro courses as they are just not comprehensive enough.

Yeh it's the lush-us one they have a course where they come to you and you can train in all techniques the group courses only offer 2 or 3 different ways whereas for a couple hundred pounds extra they can come to you one on one and train you in all...? Not sure what folk thought of this. Obviously no one is an expert without practice and experience but I want to learn as much as possible and it seems like good value? x

Oh I see! Well personally I was doubtful but I learnt 2 methods in one day and was really satisfied with how well I was taught. :)!
Then all it took was building up my confidence a little bit, so I practised on friends and family. :)

Yeah I see. So I'm pretty quick at picking things up anyway and that course is only offered to experienced hair folk (ie hairdressers & folk already doing exts). If I at least learn the techniques I'll no doubt pick a couple I'm more comfortable with and build from that. Doesn't matter how many I get an introduction to I'll still need to practice on some guinea pigs anyway! Ha thanks guys :D

Aw yay! Well if you chose to go with Lush-us I wish you all the best and hope you enjoy it as much as I did! :D
