Is it really good for your skin? I am using be cayote and am finding it drying aroung the mouth so is it possible it is just the wrong brand for me or is it normal to be drying? Is it good or bad?

Good mineral make up is excellent. It helps protect your skin, actually stays on the skin brilliantly and should look fairly flawless all day. Unfortunately I don't know the make you mentioned. Mineral make up only needs the smallest amount of mineral in it to be called mineral. It can contain talc which is really drying on the skin and can leave it looking patchy.

Maybe try a different brand. True mineral make up isn't cheap. Also look how much of it is mineral. I think Jane Iredale that I use is something like 99% mineral with no talc, perfume or fillers.

There is also a common mineral that you should avoid called bismuth. This is in Bare Minerals. This can make the skin itch and tingle especially if you get hot.

Hope that helps.

Be Cayote is an Australian brand. This is the ingredient list;
- sericte mica
- titanium dioxide
- zinc oxide
- rice powder
- magnesium myristate
- kaolin clay
- boron nitride
- mica
- iron oxides
- may contain ultramarine blue

Although I'm no expert, I would say that the rice powder and kaolin clay may be causing the problem. They are frequently used to absorb moisture - a little like talc!
Mine contain no rice powder or kaolin clay.
