Hi
I'm very much a beginner, I run the beauty floor of a very high end department store but have had no formal beauty training myself, so I was hoping to pick your brains a little!!
Our nail bar offers minx but having had it done 3 days ago they are already looking a little scruffy and seem to have shrunk away from the tips of my nails, the girl applied them then put soft gel on top, the gel seemed to peel a little, they were applied on to my natural nails...what went wrong??they're definitely not going to last a week! Another friend said she'd had minx applied and seemed to think they'd put hard gel over the top,is that possible? should minx last up to two weeks when applied to the natural nail as my internet research seems to suggest or is this over hopeful?? My nail bar is telling people about 4days for fingers compared to a lot longer for toes...just makes it seem expensive for that length of time!
Thanks

Please go to the company that distributes Minx to HELP you Kate. Minx lasts perfectly fine on fingers but if your team have had no training I have no idea what they are doing, how they are prepping etc. Please email me direct to [email protected] - we can give the correct advice.

To all of you who have mentioned fingers... let me ask you one question... 'why do YOU think Minx lasts less well on fingers compared to toes?'

Hello mrs geek, i find that with minx on the fingers doesnt last as well as toes as the majority of my clients hands are in and out of water all day. You seem surprised that we find it doesn't last as long on fingers, do u have any magic tips for us all or do u think it's just how our clients look after them?x

I second that purple haz! Everyone has their hands in and out of water, especially when we are constantly reminded about germs/flu and washing hands constantly! Also I would really like info on starter kits with/or without lamps, are u able to just use a normal lamp with infa red bulb? Are u insured to do clients without minx training? Thanks

I mean pricing info and content of starter kits, sorry

@Serenity Bty & purple Haz - No I am not surprised at all - that's why I asked the question - why do YOU think they dont last as long... all of you have answered the question beautifully. Our toes do nothing - our fingers do EVERYTHING so how can we expect the same result from Minx on fingers as toes - you just can't.

My minx last up to 7 days on my fingers 'sometimes' - I would tell clients up to 4 days - then when they last longer than 4 days they are happy. HTS's

Your hands take more of a bashing so to speak and your toes are inside shoes and or socks so not open a lot to the elements? I was told fingers 2-3 days on fingers, anymore a bonus.

I must be really lucky as I always seem to get 2 weeks out of Minx on fingers and so does my daughter. I haven't dome many on clients yet, so cannot comment on longevity on clients.

Love minx, was my most popular treatment for toes last summer, has everyone seen the lovely new designes on sweet squared!! If no one in your town is doing them, you are laughing. I was the only person doing them in my town apart from a place that has someone in one day a week. I live in a very small town so networking etc is easy for me, gossip can be good for business lol! Im always honest with my clients and tell them that fingers will be great for a special occasion but for toes, its almost like a different treatment becuase "minx toes" are near enough set in stone that they are not coming off untill you remove them! Defo invest and get them in to your town this summer! You will not regret it! xx

I'm a newbie and have been promoting Minx for the last few months but still no takers.

However, I do feel this could be due to it being seasonal and I've just minxed my toes so hoping to be a walking advert!

Fingers crossed there will suddenly be a demand because for £20 - £25 and the fact it lasts weeks and weeks on toes, it should be flying out.

I bought the whole kit and stocked up with plenty of designs last august. I also sat the training class for Minx. I have only ever had 1 client for Minx and that was over 3 weeks ago! She had her toes done with 2 matching ring fingers. I have since replaced her 2 matching ring fingers on her last rebalance and she has re booked for her toes next appointment.

My Minx kit hasn't been paid off yet but hopefully this summer it will.

It is seasonal Lisa - we now have data to really see the dips and spikes but YOU must wear it to sell it!!
