Mixing direct dyes

Anyone know if it's possible to mix direct dyes in the typical fashion?
For instance will mixing L'Oreal Chromative 4 and a 6 in a 1:1 ratio achieve a level 5?

I would say that you should be fine mixing levels so close apart as the tonalitys are simular.
