Hi everyone, i just want some advice really. I started out mobile in November and to be honest i'm finding it really difficult to get clients in. I advertise in 2 papers and have flyers around in various places but i very rarely get calls, i only have about 7 clients so far
When i was in the U.K i worked in a salon for 5 years and was used to being busy and i feel ready to go it alone but i think because i'm used to being so busy i'm finding it quite hard.
So i'm thinking do you think it would be a good idea to try and find a job in a salon 3 days a week? or do you think the salon owner would have a problem with me working mobile aswell? I don't want to have to do bar work or something to supplement my income as i really enjoy my work but i just need something more! What would you all do?

When i first started out i rented a small room at the back of a hairdressers this was great i built up a clientelle once youve got them they will stick with you if they like your work of course so after a year or so i started to offer a mobile service they all prefered it as it stopped smudging nails on way home etc ive been mobile now for 10 years and i am now thinking of opening my own salon ive got a good client base but this took a lot of hard work almost 2 years to get a decent clientelle so give yourself longer its only been a few months i also had a part time job 3 hours in the evening working in clarks as i needed extra cash its just something you have to do!its worth it in the end :smack:

thanks 4 your reply hun, i think i'm just being impatient! :)
I'll stick with it and i'll try get a little job somewhere 2 help with the cash flow!
xx
