Has anyone tried an alternative to Moroccan Oil? I find it very expensive and a bit heavy so was wondering if anyone had tried a different brand?

Thanks.

I use kitoko oil by affinage. It's not heavy at all and it's fab.

Hi - I agree, Moroccan Oil is very expensive, but there are lots of alternatives on the market. Be careful though, as most of them say they have a high percentage of Argan Oil (which is the active ingredient) and they dont. Moroccan Oil is actually synthetic and doesnt have a high percentage of this oil in.

The best one I've found is Amys. It's better, cheaper and you dont need as much of it. It's quite new to the market so I think they're still giving away free samples.

Looks like they've got a sale on too! Hair Strengthening Oil [Hairstrenoil] - £13.00 : Therapy 2000, Welcome to Therapy 2000:lol:

We had Moroccan initally as we loved the concept, but had a great deal when first in and then the rep came back and it was mega deal, so we have a new rep in our area who sold us in Macademia oil and they have the Shampoo, masque and leave in creme and it is FANTASTIC and great prices too, they have just launched a new oil in the range aimed at Fine hair so the hair is not overloaded at all, i so would recommend this set for any salon.
Also the gift packs are beautiful too .

I picked up a small bottle (10ml)from my Affinage WholeSaler,
I like it :)
My hair is naturally quite frizzy and wavey, but I put a drop in damp hair
and it dries quite straight ! And thats just a quick rough finger dry :)
Will definately pick up a large bottle when my tester has ran out :)

We have one at my salon called Orifludio. It is an argan oil from spain and is amazing. You can cocktail it with other products, use it wet or dry. But I love that it is weightless and does not make the hair greasy AT ALL. You could literally apply to roots and it wouldn't get nasty lol. Love it! Retails for almost $40 tho..

I use Macadamia oil, too. It's a brilliant product and is a fair price.

The rep has been in to our Salon today, he is a nice bloke and not pushy at all, The gift kits are Great and i am selling about 15 packs a week, Macademia is beautiful and the masque is lovely

Moroccan oil all the way!! It is verrry concentrated so you dont need much so therefore in the long run you are using less and you are getting same value for money however it is a better quality product. I work as a technician in a wholesaler in Australia and it is the market leader by far!! There is a new moroccan oil 'lite' out which is for fine or lighter coloured hair. Give it a go!! :):):):):)
