I did a gel nail course a couple of wks ago...this is my first attempt at gel nail extensions....I know they are pretty bad...I used NSI balance gel with clear NSI tips....most obvious is I can clearly see where the tip meets the nail underneath, Im not sure how I could avoid this??
I really want to improve so any pointers would be brill...Thanks x

Did you cover blending in your course?

They dont look bad for a first ttempt, my main critique would be that the tips are too wide. You need to narrow them down so they line up with the side walls, this will make a HUGE difference to the nails.
Hth xx :p

I use NSI and with the clear tips that you have used, you need to either blend them in or use a cover powder to cover the nail bed which will cover the tip at contact point.
I prefer to blend but that's just me.

I agree that they do look a bit too wide, either your tips were too big or you need to refine your side walls and bring them in.

They also look a bit flat (no apex).

The white looks very uneven, as in they are dipping on some spots then higher in others.

Even though a few things have been mentioned to work on, I find it's best to focus on one thing at a time and try and perfect that before moving on, other wise you just get to over loaded.

You have done well though for your first attempt. Keep at it and you will get there with a lot of practice.

Good job for your 1st time. Don't be afraid to file them after you set them. Get them all even and smooth by filing and the just do your top gel again. I would practice on tip-on-a-stick more before doing your own again. just so you can get a more even look with out over doing your own.

here are some CND videos on gels. even if your not using CND the Building of the nail is the same :)
