Hi there, I thought I'd have a go at doing acrylic nails myself as I'm sick of paying at the salon... however I've just finished and my nails look quite bumpy and powdery... As in they're not glossy. I've filed and buffed them which made them feel smooth and a shiny but no joy... You can see bumps underneath. Does anyone have any ideas? Many thanks.

Not surprising is it?

This is a professional forum. Im afraid that you are using pro products when you shouldnt be without proper instruction which you will not receive here on salon geek.

Have your nails done by a professional or pay for and get proper training.

Wow...this is sooooooo the wrong forum for you. You have just insulted all of us. We're nail professionals...the very ones whom you are "sick of paying" and the very ones from whom you are now seeking advice. I'm sorry. Trust me...you won't find it here. This sisterhood is a close knit one and we don't take kindly to insults. You're paying for our education, training, experience, continuing education etc. We have years of professional experience and expertise. Your nails look like crap? Yes they do because you are not US! And we will not share our experience and expertise with you. Find a DIY forum.
