Nail art, help!

Hi

Hope someone can help me.

So when i've been doing gel overlays and using chunky nail art such as sequins or embellished glitter the gel seems to be so thick and it then starts coming away from the actual tip!

I basically apply the gel colour and then apply a base coat then apply the nail art, I then go over it with two top coats but the nail then looks very thick as I've had to use so much so the nail is smooth! Should I be filing the top coat after applying the nail art??

Which gel system are you using Beth?
Gel is slightly thicker when using embellishments but I tell clients that is the effect of having encapsulated art as opposed to regular art.

Personally i stopped doing much art except for few friends and stick to stamps and glitter to save myself the headache
