Nail extensions with gel polish

Hi All

I am totally new to Salon Geek so I hope I am doing this right

I am interested in what people charge for applying gel polish to your customers nail extensions. I try to persuade them to have nail varnish only but a few ask for gel but I only use good brands, they're expensive but I can you justify charging £50 for Nails and gel polish ?

I advise them that normal polish will last just as long on overlays as Gel Polish and cost them less. I charge 25% of my gel polish price to put it over enhancements as no base coat or removal costs involved, and polish is free

I personally would never go back to polish on my acrylics, no polish I've ever used compares to having Shellac on top. The cost price per set is pennies difference.

The wearability, the way it dries straight away, the shine, everything about Shellac/gel polishes in my opinion will always be better than standard polish.

Only one of my enhancement clients chooses normal polish, everyone else wants Shellac. Why wouldn't they? It's so shiny and of course instantly dry and less likely to show wear on the free edge. Like Trinity I charge 25% of my normal Shellac price.

Only one of my clients prefers polish. I charge the same regardless of whether they have polish or gel polish on top. Normal polish takes more of my time than gel does.
I charge £5 extra

I don't have a single polish client gradually ebbed out and all my clients enjoy instantly dry nails - if I mention normal polish to not of them they shudder a bit.

I've got to a point where I sold off most of my Vinylux - I keep a few colours for younger client manicures - but my adult ladies are Gel/hybrid wearers exclusively.

I personally prefer the look of nail polish over enhancements, I think gel polish can make the nails look slightly bulkier

but if the client chooses gel polish over enhancements I charge €10 extra

Most of my clients actually choose polish for what it's worth
