Me again,

Thank you for all your suggestions to obtain nail jewellery.

I ordered some and they arrived this morning (was all excited :D ). Anyway I don't know if I'm being abit thick or completely missing a brain cell!! :o but I can't see how you would get the clasp to go onto the nail unless it was very thin, ie when I do a fibreglass nail.

I've just thinned my enhancement to try and put this jewellery on  .
The gem I'm tryiog to put on is attached by two circle bands (don't know the proper term and these are attached to a clasp. I've drilled a hole and clasped through the hole but all you can see is the clasp so I've reattached it with the clasp on the underneath of the nail, but the hold is so tight the clasp doesn't sit properly!!!! :o :o :o

I was due to go round to one of my customers tomorrow as she had requested one!!! so please someone tell me what the hell I'm doing wrong :D :D :D

ALso which finger do most people have these on?

Please don't laugh at me peeps but I'm disappointed as they don't sit correctly in the hole. Are all the nail jewellery drills (the gold handheld one) all the same drill size!!!!

Lou   :o

Hi Louise,

I think all drills are the same size. Why dont you get the jewellery with just the normal o ring then it might sit better on the nail, this is what I use, i dont get along with the clasps either.

Usually nail dangles are worn on either the thumb or the pinkie, but it is up to the client whatever they prefer hth hun.

Some of the clasps are quite thick. I usually have to clip the hole in the tip or natural nail first with a hole punch (kiss do a good one, don't know if they still do it as i've had mine for donkeys), then do overlay and clip the hole again. Theeeennn i have to use an electric file with a tiny drill bit and swirl it inside the hole to make it bigger.

Have you tried the bolted jewellery? i think they look much nicer, they don't dangle, just sit on top of the nail but are bolted underneath so you don't lose them.

Hi,

I'm sure i'm going to get told off for doing this but i use a pair of pliers (only a small pair) or cuticle nippers and i pull the ring open so the gap is wider and then just squeeze the ring back together you have to be careful though because if you squeeze to hard you can bend the ring out of shape.

At least I'm not bonkers    at least you know what I'm talking about.

I think I'll do away with the clasp as you suggested Sarah Lou and also look into some bolt on jewellery.

Many thanks

Lou x :D

I have done this also ... sometimes its the only way!
I also prefer the posted jewellery which is just a personal preferrence but, I know someone who had a nasty experience when a dangle got caught on the inside of the sleeve of her jacket as she was put it on, she didnt know it was caught and thrust her hand through it!. OUCH!!!

I buy mine from toots, she also sells on ebay under the name of tootsco, but here is her webby, http://www.toots.co.uk/nail_dangles.htm one dangle will come with 3 or 4 o rings, I got 10 dangles for £8.99, bargain.
