Please can anyone help with the courses I need to become a professional nail tech, preferably an online course and any recommended educator...thank you

Hi, welcome to the site...training is the most frequently asked question do use the search function to narrow your choices and research.

Personally I believe a manual skill cannot be properly taught on-line or remotely. Skill building once you've learned your craft, yes absolutely, but not basics. It's not possible to show someone they are holding an abrasive incorrectly so likely to get RSI, or angling their brush incorrectly so products are not being applied correctly.

There are many tevhs who have used Essential Nails, they are the best and most popular home learn system but I believe most of them will admit they needed further one to one or practical training after.

Thank you very much for your kind response. but i would love to also know the break down of the courses or if it is dependent on the school offering the course.

They are all different, 'buyer beware' is really relevant with nail training, please please please, use the search option on here to do some research before you start. Or at very least scroll back through the years of posts to get your bearings.

There are far too many message on here about trainee tech's getting ripped off. No one can teach you how to become a full nail tech in 2 or 3 days not matter how good the course looks. It's just not possible. I trained with CND 16 years ago (which is in internationally recognised training company who have won awards for their training) and we spent 2 days just learning how to apply and blend tips correctly! that will give you an idea of how good the training is and how rubbish the course is promising how to teach you to apply 3 different types of product in 2 days is.

There is principly 2 routes, a all encompassing college course which will be either part or full time. Full time over a term several days a week, part time, once a week for a year or so. Or private acadamy training with someone like CND (via SweetSquared), or NSI or CJP. Young Nails are a long standing company with good training history is another option.

Personally I would avoid places like Capital, or the training places that offer a huge number of varying courses. These are usually run by a tutor brought in specifically for that course, who may not be a specialist in that skill. The places I have mentioned about have specific training locations and trainers/educators affliated with them specifically.
