Hi
I am newly qualified in beauty level 2 and was going to go on to my level 3 but I love doing mani and pedi's so I was thinking of maybe instead doing a nail technology qualification and specialising in this instead.
Can I ask where you all trained. Was it in a college doing an NVQ type course or did you all do specific brand training like CND?
Also are nail enhancements still really popular or is it difficult to compete with the cheap high street shops? Want to make the right choice
Thank you [emoji4]

Licensing and training is SO different from country to country, so i dont think i will be much help with the training question, however enhancements done by qualified, talented, creative and fantastic nail techs is in demand. NSS, in and outs, or whatever lose clients regularly because of the damage they do, you're absolutely going to have a steady stream of people who need/want a qualified tech to work on them.

With the internet NSS are losing out (good thing), because people can see what beautiful nails look like and when they leave a chop shop they see that their nails do not compare! Part of the reason i became a nail professional, to offer better service than what these in and outs or NSS offer!

Thank you that is really helpful.

I trained in college and did mani, pedi and nail tip and overlay. I then did additional courses with nsi.
The vast majority of my work is nail enhancements with nail art. I'm never asked to do any natural nail services with polish however this will depend upon location and your clientele.
My advertising is mainly nail art so that's what I get asked to do.
