Just when you think that the boundaries of nail creativity are getting harder and harder to break, Mark O'Hara, launches his own range of polishes in bum-shaped bottles. Yep, that's right. This 'cheeky' little range (geddit?) is called Bootie Babe and it launches this month.
Founder, Mark O'Hara, used to be in a band called SuperBooty. The band used to do butt-themed merchandise and O'Hara credits that as his inspiration for the new polish range. After a few false starts - the bottle leaked on first launch and was criticised for the brush being too short - O'Hara is confident that Bootie Babe is no longer a 'bum' product.
As you can see, the pun potential is huge (and you all know how much I love a pun!). The colour range has been given some truly sc'rump'tious names such as Tears for Rears, Uncanny Fanny (just in case UK geeks aren't aware, 'fanny' in American is the bum and not the erm, front bit!), Whale of a Tail, Red Riding Rump, Hella Hiney and Grind Behind.
Talking to fashionista.com O'Hara recognises that his range isn't for everyone. "Some women don't appreciate this product because they think it's sexist. But they love it in Brazil!"
And at the end of the day, O'Hara says it's all about fun. "If you look in these women's magazines, the tone is overly serious and dramatic. My band was so silly. It would be great to bring a little levity to the beauty industry. Why can't it just be fun?"
Why indeed?
Until then...geek on!
