I've recently Ben doing acrylic nails an they keep popping off, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I buff an dehydrate the nail before i put the nail tip on an put primer on before the acrylic. I get my supplies from Sally's so their good quality. I recently got some new tips from Cosmo prof an the "well" on the back of the tip is very thin could that have something to do with it?? Some advice would be much appreciated

Hello and welcome to the site.

As your Profile has yet to be completed, can you please advise us if you have had any training so far as nail services are concerned please, or are at least in training?

You will appreciate that we cannot advise consumers to experiment with professional products or enhancement systems which require specific training and instruction, since obviously without detailed knowledge, more harm than good may be caused.

Hi There!

Same note as above, are you a qualified nail technician?
If not, unfortunately I can't give advice on products as acrylics really aren't safe to be done without being trained first.
Also don't be blinded by the shop you buy things from, not every single thing from Sally's is good quality simply because it's a "pro store". I've bought some horrifically bad quality things in trade shops.
Another thing is...if you are not qualified with certificates, you shouldn't be allowed to buy acrylic supplies from Sally's or any other trade store without a trade card which you can only get if you have certificates as proof. If you're using someone else's trade card, please stop, you could cause so much damage to yourself.
The products are for professionals only for a very good reason and we hate seeing people getting hurt :) xxxxxx

Sallys sell to the general public unfortunately. I know a few people what have purchased monomer & powder from there & they paid the non-trade price. Exactly why i switched warehouses. Only go to one that sells to professionals only :)

It's no good! I think certain Sally's have different rules because the one near me doesn't even sell Barbacide if you don't have a trade card.
It's ridiculous you wouldn't sell diazepam over the counter why would you sell acrylic supplies to someone that isn't trained to use it.
Baffles me every time!! Xxxxxx

One near me are willing to sell absolutely everything to anyone! That was my sole reason for swapping wholesalers. I will never get my head around it. The one i go to now is so much more professional :) xx

I will go into a few wholesalers and the amount of unqualified people using their friends cards is ridiculous.
It will never end, there isn't anything we can do about it either. My CosmoProf asks for your drivers license to match it to their file and if a tech wants to buy stuff for their friends then that is on them.
I have worked alongside stylists for years and I have picked up quite a few things and just because I have access to professional hair supplies it doesn't mean I use them myself.

Thing is these days you dont even have to go to a wholesalers to get professional products (or what appear to be professional products) with popular bid/buy websites selling everything from high quality brands to the down right cheap and nasty. :-/

You can't buy anything like that from our Sally's without a trade card... You can get polish, hair gel etc but nothing chemical wise
