I am just wondering which is the most popular within the industry for clients nail tips or nails sculpting? acrylic or gel?

Both, there are die hard sculpting techs and die hard tip users. Both have their pro's and cons. If created properly with correct apex, etc. then both are as strong and durable.

As a tech you'll find one style 'clicks' and becomes your favoured but it's worth learning both as a skill

Thank you I have been looking at courses for both but was just wondering.

There really is no right or wrong, for many many years sculpting was seen as an advanced skill, techs would train with tip as a standard then learn sculpting as it's viewed as harder. Personally I agree, I can sculpt but I find perfect form fitting difficult, and I find if its slightly misaligned the final nail is horrible to look at, it can be twisted, winky, tilted incorrectly (up or down), incorrect c-curve, etc. most of which you don't necessarily see until you come to final filing. With a tip, because its already too long (usually you'll shorten them) you can immediately see any problems before adding the product and can correct easier.

Those who sculpt all the time will prefer their method and usually loathe tips and blending them :p;)

I’d agree with Trinity that learning both is definitely beneficial.
I do both but if you get a damaged nail then a tip won’t always fit properly and you can adapt the form accordingly.
The same with nail biters, you want as much of the product on the tiny nail plate and a tip will take up too much of it.
