Hi, I really want to go to the hairdressers at the end of this month to go blonde, my natural colour is a medium brown BUT (the problem part) I dyed my hair black back in July, if I use ColourB4 (the strong one) tonight to remove it, would it be safe to then have it lightened professionally at my local salon in 3 weeks or so?

xXx

No, is the short answer.

If you use an over the counter colour remover, it's most likely to leave your hair ginger at best. I doubt you will walk around with it like that for 3 weeks and you're probably be tempted to put something else over the top.
(Just saying ;) )

Then you will end up paying a lot more for a complex colour correction.

Might be best just to leave it alone until your appointment.

If you don't follow my advice....at least make sure the salon you choose insists on a skin test and takes small cuttings to do some hair strand tests.
OTC products on hair can react badly when being re-coloured.

If I did remove it and not put another colour on top of it, would that be alright?

Sadly, that's impossible to know without doing strand tests as you have to consider the black that was on originally too.

If you're trying to keep costs down, you could book into your local hairdressing college as it would be a great training/assessment for a level 3 student to do.
